… you gave are enlightening and it seems likely to be a free-living cyanobacterial colony of Nostoc (I didn’t know about that possibility with such a form!). The important thing is that the Nostoc exists at the place of the observation and sometimes it associates with a fungus to form a lichen, as is the case of the specimen considered in MO66329 living in the same place.

Worth considering possibility…

…that this is just free-living cyanobacterial colony of Nostoc. I don’t see morphological features typical of Collema or Leptogium here… but I’ve been wrong before in this group, believe me…
