I have now been on the Sth Island (Arthurs Pass, Haast, Fiordland, Dunedin) for over 2 weeks, and it has not been good. Dry and lots of frost. I think the worst year so far. I do have some interesting finds, though. If anyone reads this, who knows about the West Coast up Karamea, please tell me.

Thank you and don’t worry I was very conservative, the forest is overflowing with fungi:)

My question is, how will it look after the funNZ foray, I hope it isn’t vacuumed clean as I will be back on the Queens birthday long weekend!

Today I have visited the spot that I will show you on the 11th and had a few interesting finds, one Cortinarius species I came across was fruiting exclusively from the trunk of a tree fern, I’ll do some further study on the specimens and let you know what I find.

Good show

Nice pix from Kaimanawa. Now the big question: have you vacuumed the forest till I am coming in some 10 days?
