On a fallen hardwood-

Note the pure white spore bearing surface (not yellow as with G. brownii) perfect for etching and artwork designs.

G. applanatum is also very high in triterpenes and has significant amounts of ergosterol- great for regulating cholesterol and stimulating the human immune system. Also a non narcotic pain killer, bug repellent and relaxing tonic in tea.

A very, very amazing fungus!
