Observation 66721: Hygrocybe (Fr.) P. Kumm.
When: 2011-04-30
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Small (less than 1cm) red fungi found growing in the hollow (Concave) section of a gumtree. There were scattered specimens in the 1 metre area. The area although receeding towards and into the centre of the trunk, was saturated with rain and the highlights on the images are water droplets reflecting the fill flash . The tree was a living tree. I apologise for the poor resolution, but the colour was brilliant even in the shade of the trunk..

Love this observation,great pics

Sasata

ID suggested does tend to fit the image, but the stem lengths on this particular group were much shorter. The images I loaded did show mature specimens. Just wondering???
