Observation 66787: Entoloma Fr. ex P. Kumm.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: This totally black fungi, including the gills and stem was found , (with others.), growing on a log. The white highlights shown on the underside of the cap is water droplets.It was raining something fierce when I took this image.
Again, I have not seen the like of this before, or in any reference I have..
The fungi was approximately 3-4cm in height and the cap about 2-3cm.

I just found something similar on the Blueswami website that was found in Barrington Tops N.P. (not too far away from this obs). They appear to be the same species but his are in quite poor condition.
