Xerula complex

This complex of agarics has been globally monographed by R. Petersen and K Hughes in 2010. Xerula has been restricted (basically) to those taxa with dry pilei and stiff pileal hairs. Seven (7) other genera have been recognized: Dactylosporina, Hymenopellis, Mucidula, Oudemansiella, Paraxerula, Ponticulomyces_, and Protoxerula. It looks like Hymenopellis takes the lion’s share of those “radicata” entities we came to know and love.

Without access to specimens, I’d wager this Obs depicts H. gigaspora or H. raphanipes.
