Observation 67023: Gymnopilus P. Karst.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Groups found growing on dead log. Largest cap to 3cm. Gill separations close suggesting possibly amanita. The caps had an uneven hairy appearance and the stems, caps and gills had similar colouring. The clusters were close together and the stems were about 3cm also.

Changed level of ID

Although this was classified as Gymnopilus I have not found this Colour cap or growing in a major cluster as these were. Possible different ID may be applicable. Previous Gymnopilus identifications for comparison are:
MO Obs: 139271, 163312 & more recently 204431. I have noticed these image files were all taken at approximately the same time of the year and in the same position at the base of a Eucalyptus. Further comments appreciated. on this obs (67023)
