Notes: This fuzzy little cort was growing from the ground on the edge of a pine plantation where the pines are dying out and many different kinds of hardwood saplings are competing to fill the niche. Walnut, hickory, maples, oaks, ash, and elm saplings were all within ten feet of this mushroom. Other woody perennials that I could not identify were also present there.
