Observation 67316: Lycogala terrestre Fr.
When: 2011-05-12
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This one was very interesting. I assumed it to be the caps of a very immature mushroom, but it turned out to be something I’ve never seen before.

Little “sacks” of orange, soft but slightly rubbery “goo”. Thin outer skin protecting the creamy orange center. Last picture is what you get when you squeeze too hard :)

Since the plasmodium is more of an orange/peach color, and not red, it would make this L. terrestre?

Corrections or confirmations appreciated.

Lycogala epidendrum looks dead on, thank you very much.
