seems like a good idea. The spores are unusually long and slender in this (group of) species. Sometimes they look like shoe soles.

You can take pictures right above the ocular with your camera. It will focus on the same picture that you see with your eyes. But use a tripod, so you don’t get too close to the ocular and scratch the lens on it. Experiment with it, that’s what I have done.
Try setting the camera on “P” and the white balance on “light bulb”.

I finally fixed my POS scope a bit and was able to view some obclavate metuloid cystidia on these guys! I still can’t measure spores or anything, but progression is progression.

I also cannot take pictures down the barrel, my lens is too big. :(
