Notes: Growing in a eastern white pine forest on the side of a old forest road. Only took one picture because of rain.

The maps don’t show distribution of the species, they only show where they are reported from. They rather show distribution of observers..

Caloscypha fulgens was first described from Switzerland, and is known from many countries in Europe, so I see no reason why it should be a western species in USA.
