Without microscopic data is hard to take a more educated guess, but if it did not have clamps in the pileipellis this is most likely Pluteus exilis. If it did have clamps on the pileipellis then Pluteus primus and Pluteus brunneidiscus are likely candidates.

On the West Coast the true Pluteus cervinus has been only been recorded from a few places around the San Francisco Bay area, and it is not a common species, Pluteus exilis is by far more common.
