Notes:
The color of this photograph is VERY inaccurate. Taken inside under incandescent light. True color outside was that of cinnabar chanterelles, tending a bit more towards pink. Shaded to white at the base of the stalks. The knife is about 6 inches long.

Did you look at the spores under a microscope? What is your reasoning behind texensis as your ID for this specimen?
