Recognized by sight: placodioid, rimose-areolate, “creamy light greenish” thallus (suggesting usnic acid), with immersed black apothecia and interior areoles sometimes delimited by a thin, blackish prothallus
Used references: Ryan in Nash , 2002, vol. 1, pp.84-87 (key to the genera of lobate lichens) and Mayrhofer and Sheard in Nash et al., 2004, vol. 2, pp.93-97 (Dimelaena) … and it looks much like the photo on the back cover of vol. 2

Hadn’t considered that possibility. Plausible, I suppose, but it looks far too white to me. No way D. radiata could be found out there, is there?
