Observation 69990: “Deuteromycota” R.T. Moore

No herbarium specimen

Notes: It is the color and texture of penicillium mold – except it grows on wood in colonies of 1/2" to 1" long that have a white band around them. I have seen this in the field several times: could it be penicillium?

Yes we agree that this is a Deuteromycota, no question. Do you think assigning the name of Tricoderma is making too many assumptions?
