Here’s another photo of this specimen from a different angle (sorry about the poor quality of picture) – but I reckon it does support Myxomop’s suggested Amanita ID.

with a clean-breaking stipe

brittle gills, no veil remnants whatsoever and a white to cream to ever-so-slightly yellow tinted spore print, this may be Russula. the cap surface and slightly tapering stipe ring Russula as well.
