When: 2011-06-25

Collection location: Washington Crossing State Park, Mercer Co., New Jersey, USA [Click for map]

Who: I. G. Safonov (IGSafonov)

No specimen available

Notes:
Scattered in undergrowth under hardwoods, with oaks in vicinity, on the edge of a trail. The velvety pileipellis is of a rich maroon color, resembling that of young Xanthoconium purpureum. The tubes are possibly xerocomoid, though they were too mushy to be split in two.
