Observation 70330: Agaricus bisporus (J.E. Lange) Pilát

When: 2011-06-27

Collection location: Marquette Co., Michigan, USA [Click for map]

Who: CreamyD

No specimen available

Notes:
These mushrooms were found inside a horse, goat and chicken stable growing amongst (mostly horse) dung and straw. I took a spore print and found it to be a rust brown, showing up most clearly on the black area of my paper.

I dissected both of the large fruits; inside there were tiny white bugs and worms – the bugs were about aphid size and pure white, the tiny worms about the same color and diameter, maybe 1/8 inch long. There was a distinct cavity where they were dwelling, above the gills and inside the cap; this cavity was spongy and crumbly, yellowish with brown spots.
