That forest seems nice and open. I would kill for some open woods like that!
I have to cut my way though the bush and worry about ticks the entire time.
At this nature preserve I go to, I walk on the trail (which is open and nicely maintained) and will still have ticks crawling up my legs every few minutes, and I’m not exaggerating the “every few minutes” part, it’s ridiculous! I’ve never seen a place so heavily populated with ticks!
Sorry to rant about ticks on your observation, I just passionately hate ticks, the dern things…
