Notes:
Growing from soil in mixed woods
Trees: Liriodendron tulipifera, Fagus grandifolia, Pinus virginiana, and a younger Quercus sp.

Staining dark red when cut at apex and base of stipe.
I’m fairly certain that the flesh of the cap bruised dark red too, but I can’t say that with 100% certainty….I should have snapped a photo…..

I actually did take a photo of the staining. I just forgot about it….

I think that it is the ornamentation of the spores…
