Observation 71545: Boletus auripes Peck

No herbarium specimen

Notes: A tiny basidiocarp, measuring only 1.5 inches in height. The cap color is somewhere between maroon and dark red. The stipe and pores are light lemon yellow; the upper portion of the stipe is rather coarsely reticulated. Context is pale yellow, not changing color upon exposure, negative with KOH. Pileipellis stains brownish with KOH. Boletus auripes is the closest match in B-R-B.
