Found beneath evergreen huckleberry and Salal in conifer and Madrone canopy.
I found a small Jstor article describing association between this mycoheterotrophic plant, Boletus sp. and Elaphomyces granulatas(a common false truffle).
Note the dense cluster of young specimens deeply tucked in the darkest portion of salal bushes.
Temp: low 50’s hard rain for most of the day.
