Observation 71867: Menegazzia subsimilis (H. Magn.) R. Sant.

Notes: The last time I saw M. subsimmilis flourishing like this was last March here at Millersylvania State Park. What crazy weather patterns we’ve been having this summer! Other species found here today- Russula sp. – Hypomyces- C. fruticulosa- M. uniflora.

The M. subsimmilis is growing on Alnus rubra(red Alder) trees in the lowland swamp area of the park, near beaver dams.

Temp: low 60’s raining.
