Notes: From last year these were more salmon pink, in the same place. Here it was really dry for the week, and they are a deep pink. They don’t have the tomato/rose red of R. silvicola, more of a deep pink. Also I found an old cap intermixed in the middle of the others, it is was washed out, with only the pink in the disc, and the margin has more of the salmon pink tones.
This matches the description for R. simillima in Thiers’ Russula of California.
