Observation 7197: Mycobilimbia carneoalbida (Müll. Arg.) S. Ekman

When: 2008-03-28

Collection location: Edgewood Blue, Wells Gray region, British Columbia, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Jason Hollinger (jason)

Specimen available

Another lichen with a cool name and habit: “Moss Bane” — or more prosaically, Ernie Brodo calls it “Dot Lichen”. Question is: does this lichen parasitize the poor moss in question? Either way it doesn’t look good for the moss.
