Observation 72493: Monotropa uniflora L.

Anecdotal moment…
I have been quietly seething while viewing others’ observations of this myco-heterotroph. I’ve damn near wrecked the truck a few times trying to see under trees while I’m driving…seriously…..I have hoped to find this so deeply that when I did come across it finally, I laughed with joy!
Funnier than my joy was the ‘oh duh!’ I muttered when I came home and read about it’s relationship with Russulaceae! These were in large quantity right in my lobster patch.

ok, enough dorky stuff…happy shroomin’ all !

Now is the time to find these in the Northeast. They might be a little scarce in another month. Good luck nonetheless.

Congrats, Britney! I often laugh with joy when I finds things I dream about. Nice shots!

thanks Deb
