I’m glad you like the photos. These were shot with a Canon power-shot sx200is. The secret is a blue-white spectrum utility flood light.
of a mean, evil-looking Amanita from a scary fairy tale. :-) Furthermore, I cannot imagine a better visual descriptor for the word “appendiculate”. As a matter of fact, Dan, I would like to compliment you on most of your MO photos — being sharply focused, possessing phenomenal clarity as well a perfect balance of lighting and color palette, they really bring out the subject. If it isn’t a big secret, what is your choice of equipment?
I only dug down a few inches before the root broke off on this one. These mushrooms have a potent smell that reminds me of bleach.
