Several growing at the base of a white oak tree near Hackensack, MN 10-14 cm high; cap 10 cm, white turning gray/buff in age, very wet but not slimy, shallowly convex becoming irregularly planar with shallow umbo covered by brown scales, some radiating lines, gills adnate, loose, large, white, mildly waxy, very slight spore print obtained was white; stipe 10 cm x 1.3 cm, dry, similar in color to cap, no annular ring or volva, stalk consisting of conspicuous spiral fibers making a stiff stalk. Awaiting microscopic observation.
