Observation 73642: Ganoderma oregonense Murrill

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Soft as marshmallows and shiny as varnished Bhudda statues-All specimens have large pores (3 per MM) which indicates them as G. oregonense.
Dehydrated and being crushed into 00 caplet pills for later medicinal use.
All specimens found today were fruiting from living and fallen(rotting) Western Hemlock(Tsuga heterophyla) trees.

Temp: mid 70’s, overcast, low precipitation.

Based on microscopic features: All collected specimens measured with a small ruler ( shown in images below) had 3 pores per MM. G. oregonense(2-3 pores per MM) G. Tsugae(4-6 pores per MM)
