Observation 73644: Ganoderma oregonense Murrill

Notes: Rapid growth evident from 7/24/2011(little marshmallow nub) to 8/6/2011(Starting to release spores)- in only 2 short weeks this G. oregonense has nearly reached maturity.

Saprophytic rot of a fallen Tsuga heterophylla(Western Hemlock).

Temp: mid 70’s, overcast, low precipitation.

Taken 7/24/2011- 1 inch soft nub.
Taken 7/30/2011 beginning to show red/orange varnish.
Taken 8/6/2011- beginning to plane, form a stalk and drop spores(evident brown spore dust on top of varnish).
