Observation 73712: Infundibulicybe gibba (Pers.) Harmaja
When: 2011-07-30
Collection location: Thoiry, France [Click for map]
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found under spruce and fir.

This is a good day for Clitocybe (if such a day could be defined as a good day…), found a few different kinds, and they were the most numerous ’shrooms in the woods.

But this is a companion to the recent C. costata obs. of mine, you can read more there. But I’ve had arguments with people between these in the past, and I found that they react differently with KOH. I put KOH on these, and no reactions, none at all, it is hard to see in the last photo, but there is a wet part on the left side of the cap in the photo. Compare to C. costata, and the brown reaction there.

Oh, and also, I include one set that had rather fat bottomed stipes. But otherwise seem the same.
