Observation 74595: Boletus L.
When: 2011-08-21
No herbarium specimen

This strange bolete looks a bit like an old B. pallidus (cap color, pale green pore mouths staining blue-green), but the brown streaky stipe with a coarse, wide-mesh reticulation rules it out. It was handled a lot at the NJMA foray, so it looks darker than it originally was. Interestingly, the young basiocarp’s stipe is not reticulated. Could not find a match in B-R-B. Any ideas?
