Observation 74599: Entoloma strictius (Peck) Sacc.

When: 2011-08-14

Collection location: Gatewood Resevoir, Pulaski Co., Virginia, USA [Click for map]

Who: Mark Prosser (mark prosser)

No specimen available

Saprobic out of decaying wood, found in moist mixed Oak-Hickory/Conifer forest. This may go only as far as Enotloma sp. but hopeful that someone may be able to help to species. The cap and stem color appear to be a mild shade of tan, slightly yellow with characteristic twisted stem. Gills appear to be a light brown. Considering luteum or strictia as possibilities.
