Observation 74634: Ganoderma curtisii (Berk.) Murrill

When: 2011-08-25

Collection location: Gwinnett Co., Georgia, USA [Click for map]

Who: AmatoxinApocalypse (AmatoxinApocalypse)

Specimen available

Collected about 3 paper bags full and still plenty left at collection sites, I am a happy man!

Just curious what is it called when you pick a Ganoderma sp. and then it grows a new fruiting body from the old stem that was harvested from.

I have seen some grow back very quickly if there is plenty of moisture present, by lakes and streams usually.
