Mixed old-growth/second-growth Douglas-fir and western hemlock forest at an elevation of about 200 feet. Russula brevipes may be the host species being “lobsterized”, but it is hard to tell from these specimens. Coincidentally observed on the same date and location as observation 74682 by Drew Henderson.
