tapered stipe (not bulbous based to equal) with red coloration…this is NOT coniferarum.

If indeed there was no sign of a reticulum (and I can’t see one at the highest magnification), this sp. fits rubripes best, down to that tapered stipe.

was just inconspicuous – with the red on the stipe and odd stature, as well as the very areolate cap, it really looks like B. calopus.

I think of B. coniferarum as being more coastal, but I really don’t have a good reference for it.
