Notes:
A large, robust Agaricus with dark reddish staining and a bulbous base.

Found in mixed conifer forest (Lodgepole Pine, Spruce, Fir) at ~9500 ft.

Collected for the 4th Annual Eagle Mushroom Festival.

is one of many festival collections which were never photographed. being a simultaneous identifier, foray leader and general organizer left little time for photography except for the most unusual and/or id-resistant collections. being tripodless prohibited just about all field photography as well.

these pages serve to populate the species list for the festival, pictures/descriptions or none. if others’ photography becomes available I’ll try to pair those images with their accompanying observations as best I can.

I’m triing to i.d. agaricus species out of Utah. Can you give a simple desciption please.
