Observation 75546: Dasyscyphus bicolor (Bull.) Fuckel
When: 2011-08-27
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Sharing substrate with http://mushroomobserver.org/75128.

Spores spindle- to sausage-shaped, amyloid… I think. Blue tint is evident but could be diffraction. Hairs finely encrusted, split into ~11μm-long segments, narrowly tapered toward apex, some upwards of 130μm in length. Paraphyses smooth, full of vaculolar contents. ~70μm long. Had a bear of a time locating any asci.

In high montane mixed spruce/fir forest, ~10,000-11,000 ft.

Collected for the 4th Annual Eagle Mushroom Festival.
