Observation 7610: Gymnopus (Pers.) Roussel

No herbarium specimen

Notes: This group of fungi were in total shade and I have placed a cap showing the gill structure. The fungi were quite soft to touch, had little or no aroma. They were inside a large Spotted Gum hollow trunk.

Recognized by sight: Something close to the Gymnopus subpruinosus or Gymnopus villosipes group. It would help to know what continent/country this observation is from.

Xeromphalina? Maybe Marasmius?

Are you sure about Xeromphalina? I was thinking these might be a Marasmius? Although I am sure I’m not sure, but somewhere I think I’ve seen something like these before…
