Observation 76241: Sarcoscypha occidentalis (Schwein.) Sacc.
When: 2011-09-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Very small, stalked cup fungus(largest specimen in 3rd image was 1.5cm). Thought it was eyelash fungus when we first came upon it on the forest floor.
Fruiting from small sticks and debris in leaf litter.

Deciduous forest: Quercus, Salix, Acer and Carya trees.

Temp: 70’s, sunny.
