Notes: At first I thought it was an Amanita egg, but it turned out to be a mushroom

Recognized by sight: faint yellow staining that darkens after a few minutes and then fades, oddly cracking bumpy textured pileus, half submerged in sandy soil, widely spaced very decurrent forking gills, fruiting in montane habitat with Pine in the Summer in California.
