Observation 77386: Tricholoma subresplendens (Murrill) Sacc. & Trotter

No herbarium specimen

Notes: In the past I had called this type “columbetta.” But this name may apply only to European collections. I find this type each time I visit the Loyalsock Trail, genrally in Sept/Oct.

Blue stains

are sometimes present at the stipe apex.

blue stains on the stipe base… I remembered there was a similar type which has this feature. But no blue stains.

Shady north facing ridge with lots of hemlock, and some birch, maple.
