Observation 7748: Flammulina P. Karst.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: These fungi were photographed on a Tree Fern that had shed its top. We call this die back in Australia, and is common with this plant during drought. I think the smaller brown top fungi is the same species. I will leave ID up to the experts.

Recognized by sight: The dark, velutinous stipe and light lamellae look a lot like a Flammulina spp. but I wouldn’t know which grows on tree ferns…
