Observation 77954: Agaricus augustus Fr.
When: 2011-09-23
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I found this monster-sized mushroom along the firetrail as I was out for a run one morning. The mushroom bruised yellow and still had most of its veil intact, even though it was quite large. Lots of insects were inside this mushroom having a good time. Some people said it had an almondy smell, but I thought it was a little more like sesame seed oil.

they get less almondly with age. If you had only flipped over your background, you would’ve had an augustus photo taken on an other augustus photo! but no ruler to show its hunkiness…
