A medium to large size mushroom found in leaf-pine needle litter in open mixed conifer-hardwood stand. Cap up to 6" in diameter, thin edge turned down but eventually the convex cap becomes flatter and the wavy scalloped margin is less downturned. Gills white and attached. Stalk is whort, stout and fragile.
