Observation 78980: Descomyces albellus (Massee & Rodway) Bougher & Castellano
When: 2011-10-07
No herbarium specimen

Notes: A gastroid form of Descolea with fairly large ellipsoid-fusoid utriculate spores and a peridiopellis similar in form to that of Descolea, an epithelium with thin walled ellipsoid to pyriform terminal elements.
The yellow staining of the outer peridium is a good diagnostic characteristic typical of the genus.
