Recognized by sight: Grifola frondosa is not this color out in the open, and fronds are more leaf-like than noodle- or ribbon-like. You can see G. frondosa with SOME pale fronds here — http://mushroomobserver.org/79679 — that part of the clump was inside a log and not exposed to any sun.

Recognized by sight: a pretty common species in East and Middle Tennessee, though I always find it at the base of pines
