come to pass by the Red Pine stands. I have not ever found many mushrooms in such habitat, but I probably haven’t explored these areas in the fall. Talking to some local folks (we’ve got a year old mushroom club here now), it seems that Red Pine also associates with some nice late occurring Trichs.

Headed out today to find some areas with two needle pines.

This species usually fruits late in the season. I find it with red pine.

of a really striking mushroom. I don’t recall ever seeing this type, except in pictures. Maybe I need to look for more diverse pine habitat in my area.
