Observation 8056: Pachylepyrium carbonicola (A.H. Sm.) Singer

Notes: Found fruiting in a small control burn in high subalpine forest.

Almost roadside by hwy 130. Looking at observation no.14214, The gill structure sure resembles that Psilocybe montana photo…hmmmm

Gills would be almost black

If this was a Psilocybe, the gills would be almost black with any age on it, and it wouldn’t have the brown fibrous zone annulus. This looks more like Pachylepyrium carbonicola.
