Observation 80705: Cortinarius variosimilis M.M. Moser & Ammirati
When: 2011-10-19

Notes: These were found at ~ 6000ft growing mostly underground under firs.
Caps were ~ 6 cm across and sl. tacky.
Gills did have a light violet tint when fresh.
Spores were ~ 9.7-10.1 X 6.4-7.5 microns and moderately rough.
KOH on the cap and stem flesh turned yellow.
KOH on the cap turned brown and basically negative on the stem.
